Meet the Massey Community Trust team

Joshua Taylor

(Chair person)

Josh is the Chairperson of Massey Community Trust and has been a trustee for 10 years. He lives in West Auckland with his wife and their one year old son. They are part of a community of nine people living in one home sharing their lives. Josh joined the RNZAF at 18 and began retraining as a social worker in 2011. Josh loves working with children and young people and has done so for the past 11 years in the Children’s Ministry at Massey Community Church, as a youth worker and as a social worker. Josh’s dream for Massey is to see the local churches working together to meet the needs in their community.

Jess Haggo

(Board Member)

‘Tēnā koutou katoa! Ko Jess ahau. Why am I a MCT trustee? Moving to Massey as a young hine was one of the best things that has happened to me. I love it here, especially the people, and I feel very grateful to now be raising my kids here too. I have a background in social work, I’m a musician/writer, and I am currently (enthusiastically) studying te reo Māori. There is so much diversity, beauty, and mana in this community, and I believe in initiatives that highlight this by way of the community supporting their people."

Sarah Glover

(Board Member)

Sarah is a freelance copywriter, mother, and believer in the power of community. She joined the Trust board in the hopes of doing whatever possible to give back to Massey, her home base and the place in which she’s raising her family.

Aaron Hendry

(Board Member)

Aaron is a Youth Worker of over a decade, and currently leads a housing and homelessness service serving rangatahi who experience homelessness. He loves Massey, and joined MCT because he believes that the solutions for the massive challenges we're facing, can be found within our community, within our people.

Renee Harpur

(Bootcamp Instructor)

Malo e lelei, Hallo, Tena koutou katoa! My name is Renee. I am approachable, non-judgmental, patient, and willing. A mother, grandmother, teacher and bootcamp leader. I have been running and leading bootcamps for the past 7 years locally and have a certificate in sports, exercise, and leisure operations. I am very passionate about involving the community in this venture as I want to share the benefits of exercise with you. I know how important exercise is for the body but more importantly the mind. Exercise has helped keep me connected with likeminded people and drives me to help others reach their potential and attain wellness..
